About fifteen months ago, my doctor advised me to stop jogging and start swimming. Otherwise I’ll never get rid of my back pains. Thank God, the miracle therapy worked. I’ve been swimming on a daily basis for more than one year now. The more I swim the better I feel. At the Little Burgundy Pool, my favourite swimming pool since March 2009, I met one of the rarest species on Earth: the amphibian man. The first time I saw him I was baffled by the shape of his hands and feet. They look rather like frog legs. The swimming pool is his permanent address in Montreal. As soon as the swimming pool opens, he jumps in the water and starts swimming from the beginning until the end of every session. During the long breaks when the swimming pool is closed for the public, he goes to the showers to keep his body always wet. The amphibian man works at the swimming pool as security agent at night. The most incredible thing about him is that he sleeps on the water as if it were a wooden board ! He just floats on his back. He told me once his most secret dream. The dream he has been harbouring for decades is to meet a beautiful amphibian woman who is willing to marry him and share his aquatic life. Not in a swimming pool but in the Caribbean sea. He said while we were swimming side by side: " Our children will learn swimming before they learn how to walk. My dream is to live with my family in the water forever and ever and ever…"
